The Persevere project is an open source set of tools for persistence and distributed computing using intuitive standards-based JSON interfaces of HTTP REST, JSON-RPC, JSONPath, and HTTP Channels. The core of the Persevere project is the Persevere Server. The Persevere server includes a Persevere JavaScript client, but the standards-based interface is intended to be used with any framework or client.

AJASON is a PHP 5 library and JavaScript client for the Web technology called AJAX. AJAX permits data to be fetched asynchronously without the need for reloading the Web page and thus allows the development of interactive GUI-like Web applications. JSON is a lightweight data interchange format which is used by AJASON to exchange data between server and client. AJAX Client Engine (ACE) is a JavaScript component that makes it easy to develop AJAX-style Web applications.

The Ajax View approach is to insert a server-side proxy (or web server plugin) in-between the web server machines and the end-user's browser. This proxy captures the web application's JavaScript code as it is being sent to a browser and rewrites the code to insert extra instrumentation code. The injected instrumentation code runs with the rest of the web application inside the end-user's browser and can capture performance, call graph, application state and user interaction information, providing visibility directly into the last hop of the user's experience.
